My work focuses on fostering growth in both individuals and organizations through the lens of impermanence. With a background in project and operations management in hospitality and retail, I became deeply curious about how people accept or resist change in the workplace. A corporate layoff in 2009 prompted me to explore changes within myself through the tactility of creative expression. Today, I make objects, images, and installations that reflect my ongoing personal evolution while aiming to spark broader conversations about both individual and collective transitions. There’s a constant negotiation between preserving and shedding identities, relationships, and beliefs. My multimedia studio practice extends to public engagement through teaching in higher and secondary education, as well as through gallery and museum exhibitions, workshops, and talks. Here at UHS, I’ve staged modular shelves throughout the Jackson Street Gallery to store bodily forms that hold memories from my adolescence into early adulthood. On the walls, additional images from the same time period (1995 - 2005) are scattered non-chronologically alongside digital contemporaries (2006 - 2024). The title of this exhibition, Cache, alludes to the emotional artifacts that we choose to keep, if only momentarily, for future processing.
